8 week vaccinations

My daughter had her 8 week vaccinations today. We were prepared to expect a temperature/fever and told to give her Calpol every 4-6 hours, 3 times over 24 hours. We have been monitoring her temperature throughout the night and it has reached a high of 37.9, and has come down to about 37/37.1, though it's very up and down.
What kind of temperature would be considered worrying? And also, what is the most accurate of checking temperature in young baby's? We have a digital forehead thermometer and an under arm one.

We are quite anxious parents, sadly our son passed away last year so we do question and worry about things that may not actually be that worrying! Thank you for your help 😊

Oh also to add, she's has 2 lots of Calpol, she has also had two normal bottles since the vaccinations (though was a bit sick after the second bottle), and although she has mostly slept, she has had little awake periods with smiling, cooing and kicking (normal for her).

The NHS website says to call 111 if your baby has a temperature of 38 or higher, under 3 months old. A temperature after a vaccination is usually a good sign, but maybe call for some reassurance if it would make you feel better. It’s good that it’s come down though.

Also we are told give them calpol every 4 hours even if you have to wake them to prevent fever. Not to leave it 6 hours. I’m in Scotland though so might be different. We got two thermometers in the baby box from the midwife so we’ve got a normal one and a room/bath one but the room/bath one I find is easy to use in their skin if they’re sleeping. Just use the contact points.

Thank you both for your help! Her temperature seems to be up and down, but currently it's at 37.
We were told by the nurse today to not wake her for the Calpol. She is actually stirring now so we are going to feed her and give the Calpol.
Thank you for the advice to call 111 if the temperature reaches above 38.
I find these moments are just so worrying, I'm just glad she won't remember these difficult times!

It’s all worrying at the time, but they don’t remember it! I’m so sorry about your son, it’s completely understandable that you’d be nervous. Hope you little ones temperature continues to come down.
