Sorry I’m posting again. I have health anxiety and trying not to Google as it scares me and I go down a bad path.

my son for the last few months will go for a wee then say he needs straight after he has finished and will go back and a dribble will come out.

his urine has been checked and was clear and sent away and was absolutely clear.

any ideas? X

Is he thirsty all the time? What colour is the urine that dribbles out? How often does he go and is it when certain things are happening like going in the car or just staying at home.
does It burn or hurt when he wees?

Not thirsty all the time. Normal colour (pale yellow). He doesn’t go more than usual just never seems finished and around this will ask “do you think I need a wee again?” Usually happening when we are at home. Sometimes happens out but has hardly happened this weekend (we’ve been away). It doesn’t burn or hurt although it did hurt a few times on Saturday but not since. The GP suggested it was in his head but I don’t know how to help him! Xx

Have you concentrates on him emptying his bladder fully each time?
ERIC might be worth you ringing for a chat.

Yeah it could be an anxiety thing. I find mine wee more if they know we are going on a long car journey they want their bladder empty as possible

Sounds like potentially a mixture of anxiety and not fully emptying his bladder. There’s a thing called double voiding which is where you wee, think you’re done but wait a moment longer and then wee the rest. That might help him. Try not to feed into the anxiety.

Son was like this but also had microscopic blood in urine on a few tests. He went to the evalina for tests and he was told he needs to sit for longer in the toilet and make sure he has finished, and drink more to flush his system through.

My son (7) has this issue. It's basically he hasn't fully emptied his bladder (the ERIC thing is a good shout). Last year, my son was going for a wee 16 times a day. He would only wee little bits at a time, and his bladder would get irritated because he had "trained" it so that whenever he needed a wee, he would go immediately. Ultrasound was fine (kidneys and bladder) but he just couldn't hold his wee for any length of time. We have to do the "1, 2, 3 do I need a wee" chant every time he felt the urge to go. I would ask the GP for a referral to the urology nurses as they can monitor his output levels (the ask you to make a note of toilet habits and measurements), give you tips on bladder exercises and advise if medication would help (we aren't on meds yet as wanting to focus on bladder training first).
