Head injury now vomiting

My son hit his head (eyebrow to be exact) off the corner of our wooden bed frame yesterday evening. He was messing around with his older brother who pushed him then fell and hit it. Anyway it had a huge lump just smaller then a golf ball. I phoned 111 and was advised to go and have him checked at A&E. We were told he hasn't done any major damage just likely popped a blood vessel and to be aware of any development of head injury side effects. He's now awake vomiting in to a bucket, should this be a concern? Do I take him in or see how he gets on?
I think there is a bug in one of the classes in school it might just be that.

I’d take him in

Yika · 23/09/2022 22:59

I would be concerned yes and take him in right away.

HoneyAndMonsters · 23/09/2022 23:00

Absolutely take him to be checked over!

StickywithSuncream · 23/09/2022 23:00

I’d take him. Chances are it’s the vomiting bug, but the potential outcome if it’s not that and you ignore it is very serious. Far better to take him and be wrong than not take him and be wrong.

Discovereads · 23/09/2022 23:01

Take him back to A&E. Vomiting after a head injury is something that should be checked out.

Whatevergetsyouthroughthenight · 23/09/2022 23:03

Take him to A&E

Yes take him in, hope you get sorted soon

bloodywhitecat · 23/09/2022 23:05

My betting is on stomach bug but you cannot see what is going on inside his head so I would take him to A&E to be safe.

MarmiteCoriander · 23/09/2022 23:05

Agree with others, please go to A&E and get him checked. Normally you are given a head injury card of things to look for (vomiting being 1 of them) and if your child shows any of those sign- you bring them back,

Keep us posted how he gets on OP x

alwaystrainers · 23/09/2022 23:06

Best to be safe and go back. It's probably coincidence and a new bug but put your mind at ease and go

SuzySangfroid · 23/09/2022 23:08

Agree with others that I'd take him to a&e with vomiting after a head injury. It could really easily be coincidence and just that he got a tummy bug (two in our house with it atm). But better to be ok the safe side I think

Potter10 · 23/09/2022 23:08

Thanks everyone. I did ask Dr Google but I got confused with the advice. I'll take him in as soon as my mum arrives to look after my other kids. Typical it all happens whilst my husbands away with work 🙄

Glad you are going to take him. Good luck
