Teething, 1yo barely eaten for one week, how normal is it?

My DS2 who is 14 months has four teeth coming through including 2 molars. He's usually jolly but it's been awful this week with inconsolable crying, paracetamol and ibuprofen not really helping, v little sleep and v little food. He's losing weight and is washed out. We went to a&e abroad as on holiday, had bloods and all seems OK and no sign of infection. Is this level of discomfort in the range of normal in teething? It seems to be going on too long and hate the weightloss etc. Thanks

hey, how did it go with your teething baby? mine is currently going through the exact same phase. same symptoms as yours but I haven't seen any new teeth erupting yet. though I'm pretty sure teething is the culprit. It's only been 3 days for us and I'm already losing my mind over how little my son eats and sleep and the inconsolable crying oh my god.. How long did your baby's "teething from hell" period last?

Hello, sorry for you and your baby, it's so hard seeing them in pain. He was fine, we weren't! He didn't eat or sleep for a week and we were really worried but then he started to eat and things got better. I think he suffers teething badly, worse than my first one. I think they rumble in the gums on and off for a good three months causing sleeplessness and then it takes another month for them to come out. This is where we are at with the incisors which are erupting now, we've had blood on the sheets and a temp at the weekend. It all sounds so dramatic but after the molars last summer (on holiday no less) I've figured this is how it is for him. I think the gels work a bit on the teeth too. Good luck, you will get through it!
