Potty training help

I'm in dire need of help, advice, anything.
So dd2 is now 31months, been training since 25 months. She initiated it at Xmas, pulling nappy off, asking for wees etc. So we went for it, she did great, a few accidents daily at first, then shortly after she was dry at home (bar a few number 2 accidents) now, nursery's a different story. She has had a few weeks where she was dry, but mostly, she has at least 2 dribble accidents a day, recently we've been having 5 or more though.
It's getting frustrating.
This last week she was on antibiotics for chest infection so shes been drinking more and ended up weeing self loads at home too.

We've ended up putting pull ups on a couple of times as she's been weeing that much,.she knows to go in the potty or toilet for everything and can do it. But it's just getting a bit annoying now.
So this weekend we went back to basics and had naked days, even then she just sat on the floor and wee'd "mummy, I weed on floor"

Do I just go back to pull ups completely and give it a month or so before trying knickers again?
Do we carry on in knickers and deal with the washing daily
Please, any and all help appreciated.

Firstly well done- it sounds like you’ve done a great job so far, and so has your DD.

I was in a very similar position over Xmas. My son, 2.5, was being potty trained and we had a near identical experience. He made good headway, and then regressed. I was really reluctant to stop potty training because I felt I’d be wasting the work we’d put in to helping him.

we stopped, waiting for a few months- and honestly it was the best decision I could have made. I actually think if I’d carried on, I’m not sure it would have been great for either of us. He probably would have got it eventually, but more prone to accidents long term.

we picked it up again in early June- and honestly it was a completely different experience. He was just about to turn 3, and by day 2 he just got it. He hasn’t had an accident since day 2, and the last 3 months have just been such a better experience for both of us. We’re both much more relaxed and it’s much more enjoyable, because he’s ready.

just from my experience, I think there are two parts to being ready - one is knowing to use a potty (which my DS also understood), but also bladder control. And that’s where he struggled.

I personally wouldn’t be afraid to stop and take a break. I know it might feel like you’re wasting the time you’ve put into this, but you’ve learnt so much and it’ll make trying again so much easier.

likewise If you want to carry on, I’m sure it’ll get easier with time- but it just might take some time, and risk you feeling frustrated and a lot more washing!

good luck!
