A couple of weeks ago I started a thread about DD’s eye, I was worried she had periorbital cellulitis. Thank God she didn’t, they were a bit stumped at out of hours but sent us home.
Most of the redness went down, but her eye has still been quite red around the lower rim and upper inner eyelid. It’s got a little bit worse the last couple of days and she wakes up with a blob of crusty gunk in the corner of her eye. First photo is when her eye first went red; second photo is this morning.
GP has taken a swab (results tomorrow) and keeps telling us to wash it with warm water, warm compresses etc.
any guesses mumsnet? She’s not in any pain, no temperature and doesn’t seem to have noticed it. Her actual eye is fine it’s just the eyelids.
thanks xx

My sons eye was previously like this, it wouldn't go away, we got an antibiotic cream from the doc.

Yes, take her to optician when it's flairing up. Our GP was sympathetic but had nothing more than antibiotic eye drops/ointment up his sleeve. We tried those a few times and it did take it away but didn't stop it coming back. Optician was soooo thorough!!

My son had periorbital cellulitis and it looked a lot worse than this and he actually felt unwell in himself. I agree with the pp who asked about suncream - it's really awful stuff around eyes.
