Mucusy poo & tummy ache

Hello,

My daughter is 5 and a half months old and she's been having horrendous tummy ache ever since her rotavirus vaccine which was at 3 months.

The GP suspects to this day that she had a mild case of intussusception which has resolved itself. At the time we went to the A&E (blood & jelly in poo etc) but they didn't do a scan because "she looked well".

Fast forward to today. She constantly has nappies that have a lot of mucus in them, and occasionally blood. She has very very painful tummy aches. It is not just at night. She has painful gas. I keep going back to the GP because they always say that if it keeps happening I should go back. I do that, but nothing much is being done and things are just getting worse.

She is exclusively breastfed. She strains. Every poo is loose and runny so I'm not sure why it's this painful :( the GP just gave us suppositories.

I'm worried in case the intussusception has had some after effects. I don’t know if that’s possible? I feel like she needs a scan but I don't think that will happen. I have mentioned that maybe she has cows milk protein allergy but it's not being investigated.

Please help :( I don't know why her tummy is like this when all she's getting is just breastmilk. I'm worried what will happen when we start solids.

Anyone with a similar experience or any tips on what I could do?

I presume you've tried cutting dairy out of your own diet?

See GP - I suspect they might need to refer you to paediatrics or at least get advice from them?
