Persistent nodes in child's neck

Hi Mums,

Apologies for the long post:

My 7yr old DS has had enlarged nodes under his jaw on both side as well as a few smaller ones down the left side of his neck since he was 2 if not earlier. I have been to numerous Dr's numerous times. He's had many blood tests even a biopsy when he was 4 and all came back clear. He sometimes gets a 'bad taste' and needs to throw up for no apparent reason but is fine after.
Late month I had taken him to the paed for that, he did run bloods but said sounds like acid reflux.
The blood results were fine accept his neutrophils which were within range was n the lower end and Lymphocytes within range but on the higher end. Platelets were 425 which was 25 over the normal range. Dr said bloods look fine and platelets can go up to 450 and still be 'normal' I asked if he needed repeat bloods and he said no.
Recently I noticed the nodes under his jaws flared up a bit but he does have a bit of a cold so I put it down to that. 2 days ago he complained of pain in his left leg. it went off after a while. This morning he again limped from the bathroom as he was getting ready for school and said his leg is sore again, which subsided not long after. He hasn't been a good eater ever since a baby, very picky. He's quiet slim, and has dark shadows under his eyes.
I am an overthinker and tend to google too much and as you know google always adds to your anxiety. Although Dr's seem to say he's fine I keep worrying and questioning every little cough, sniffle or pain he has.

Has anyone else's child experienced persistent enlarged glands or similar.

Please help.

Yes and he has acid reflux

KangarooKenny · 20/06/2022 06:42

I have a solid gland under my ear that never went down after glandular fever when I was a teenager. No one has ever said any about it, and it’s never changed.

KangarooKenny · 20/06/2022 06:43

Has he done anything to hurt his leg ? It could just be growing pains, I used to get them.

MummyTo2Monsters · 20/06/2022 07:15

@KangarooKenny He says he didn't hurt his leg, I think it could be growing pains (praying) since the first time he complained of pain in his left ankle area, then a few days later the right calve area.
I am so paranoid, every time I try to ignore the nodes and convince myself it's nothing, another part of my brain guilts me into worrying and thinking what if I'm I'm being a bad mum by ignoring something. Its tough being a mum!

But he has had them investigated thoroughly, so try and take comfort from that.
Does he get plenty of sleep, does he run around in the fresh air, does he take a multivitamin ?

MummyTo2Monsters · 20/06/2022 08:20

Tbh he is a little couch potato, he would rather watch tv or play with his tablet. he gets 'bored' playing outside. He sleeps quite late and does not take a multivitamin, I have to force him to eat at every meal. He is a little weirdo, doesn't like sweets or ice cream (I know that's not healthy but if he had a liking to anything I'd be happy), it's a struggle to get him to eat fruit.
Gosh just reading that back I sound like a terrible parent 😬

You need to take him out in the fresh air, you go together and do stuff together.
And get him a multivitamin if he’s a poor eater.

MummyTo2Monsters · 20/06/2022 09:45

Will definitely be doing that. Thanks so much for responding and the advise
