I can't clean my daughter's teeth

My daughter is nearly 14 months old, she has 12 teeth. Trying to brush them is so difficult. She won't hold still or open her mouth. I've tried turning it into a game by pretending to brush the turtle bath toy's teeth, making it into a song, cleaning my teeth at the same time, giving her the toothbrush to chew herself but she won't have any of it. If I try and force it she thrashes around and screams and it just makes it worse.

When DH does bath time he gives up straight away and says she won't let him do it. This means that three days a week her teeth aren't being cleaned at all. I don't know what to do, does anyone have any advice?

At one point I wrapped my DD in a towel to keep her arms down and brushed her teeth as she cried (it was fucking horrible but only way to get them brushed). Try letting her choose her brush, try different toothpastes she may not like them. Tbh she’s only started co-operating at 2.5 when i said she’s going to teeth like highway rat.

After a few weeks of wrestling and the Hey Duggee toothbrushing song it has become a lot easier xx
