Hello just looking for some reassurance.

Tuesday morning this week (so 4 days ago) my 20 week old daughter had her first episode of bright green diarrhoea. It also had mucous and little bright green bits in it.

Tuesday ended on probably about 12 nappy changes, of Varying sizes - sometimes a big liquid poo, sometimes just a shart.

Wednesday I called the GP who told me to monitor and call back Friday if still on going.

Suffice to say but Wednesday, Thursday and Friday also had around 12-15 nappy changes, with seemingly no change in colour or consistency. She is extremely gassy with the passing of stool; she strains and it comes out in a big fart, usually whilst or immediately after feeding but also upon waking from sleep. She seems quite content in herself although Thursday nigh and Friday morning she was inconsolably crying. And took some work to get her to settle.

I phoned the GP yesterday who said to monitor this weekend and go to give a stool sample on Monday if no change.

last night she felt hot so I gave her some calpol, which she immediately vomited along with her milk feed. I then gave her ibuprofen but she was sick again. These are the only two times Shes been sick so I’m thinking she gagged on the medicine which brought up the milk, maybe?

I’m feeding on demand (breastfeeding) and really focussed on making sure she has her naps so she’s not overtired too.

She has (self diagnosed) silent reflux (symptoms include coughing when laying down, thrashing and crying whilst feeding/end of feed, won’t fall asleep on the boob, gagging/spitting, bubbles, dribble etc) which I think has also been exacerbated by this 5 day stint of poo.

anyway I guess I am wondering if there is anything else i should be doing ? I’ve done extensive googling - is this gastroenteritis ? Milk allergy ?? Too much fore milk, not enough hind?? Any experience or suggestions to keep me chill until Monday would be great :)

green Poo can be too much foremilk- I would try longer on one boob before you switch. She might find it frustrating as it’s harder work for her but worth a go.

Have you had more sweet things in your diet than normal? My dd2 had this when I was on holiday at my parents (I lived overseas) it turned out to be the cream teas and cakes I didn't normally eat!

Not tues to today regarding any food change; literally eating the same as normal.

just had another bout of inconsolable crying after waking from a nap, thrashing all over the place and refusing to eat.

i got told to call 111 if she worsens but i dont really know whether this constitutes it. She’s exhausted- woke from a nap and immediately went to sleep again?

Is she having formula milk as well? Do you drink much dairy milk?
My DS had this and was allergic to cow's milk.

I dont drink milk at all; i eat dairy but have done the entirety of her life so I don’t know if that would suddenly start at nearly 5 months old? Formula she’s had a few bottles here and there but nothing regular..

Ring 111 for advice. At the very least I’d be concerned that she’s not getting enough fluids to replace the diarrohea.
