5 year old boy- UTI? Something else?

So my 5 year old has been off colour for the last few days. Monday he was off school and he slept until 1pm which is unheard of, normally he's up at 7am. But we'd been away at the weekend and just thought he needed it.

Tuesday morning he was sent home from school with stomach pains and he vomited once. He wasn't sick again. I gave him a laxido as he does sometimes get constipation and he had a good clear out. He was pale and a bit fatigued but in good enough form.

Back to school Thursday and his teacher commented at pick up that he was tired and asking for mummy. Again, he seemed in good spirits at home but a bit pale and low appetite.

We've just been lying low today chilling out at home. He's been pooing regularly but still not eating much. It's 3am now and he spent between 1am-2am crying and he went to the toilet 3 times to squeeze out tiny wees. Normally he goes all night without the toilet.

He's had no fever so I haven't been concerned - thought he just had a bug that needed to work it's way out really - but I am starting to worry now. I've given him some calpol and he's gone back to sleep. Anyone got any ideas? And do you think I should call OOH tomorrow or wait until Monday when the GP surgery opens? My thinking is OOH?

I've seen kids present like that with appendicitis, however that sounds like a uti.

He really needs to been by a dr. Book an appointment with Ooh they'll ask you for a wee sample. Does his wee smell? Utis stink to high heaven, like a urinal.

Poor thing. It sounds like he's in pain. Calpol for the night?

Oh you've given Calpol sorry! I'd definitely get an Ooh appointment if you've got a clean plastic container you can take a wee sample with you (make sure it has a lid)! It will save time

Thanks @ProclivityForPyrotechnics for your reply. He was fine the rest of the night and is back to normal urinating now, his wee is a normal colour and not smelly. His temperature is fine, he says his tummy feels ok and his penis doesn't hurt but he does have a sore ear?? I am at a loss tbh!

Hoping this has been resolved now but if not, I'd get his blood glucose levels urgently checked out. Some of these symptoms can be signs of type 1 diabetes, which can get really serious really quickly if untreated. Sorry to sound dramatic but our kiddo was diagnosed with it a few years ago and it's really, really easy to confuse with other illnesses. Hope he's doing okay now OP.
