What are these spots?!

I posted a couple of weeks ago that whilst on holiday my daughter came up with some flat very red spots on her face (first photo). We took her to the GP aboard who said they were heat related.
When we got home they cleared up, but about a week after I noticed one coming back.
They have since all come back in the exact same place but are now raised and seen pus filled (pics 2&3)

Does anyone have any idea what this could be? They’re definitely not chicken pox, they only appear on her face and ears and have been there over a week with no crusting.
The GP here mentioned molluscum but I’m not 100% convinced.
has anyone else seen anything like this? They don’t itch but I imagine they’re sore but don’t want to poke or prod them. They’re angry looking and seem to be getting bigger.

Are you sure it's not a mild case of chicken pox?

It's around at the moment and some children have a natural immunity so it can be a milder version of CP.

Looks like CP to me…

SB1712 · 24/05/2022 17:15

When I took her to the GP yesterday she said it’s not chicken pox, she said to her it doesn’t resemble chicken pox at all. The only relation I can see is they look slightly pus filled, but no crusting or scabbing even after a week.

It’s strange though as they disappeared and have come back a week later which I know isn’t a symptom of CP?

She might be wrong. They don't have to be pus filled or crusted over.

My DD had them and they were exactly like this.

SB1712 · 24/05/2022 17:27

@Bambi7 That’s interesting, did your DD have them localised to one place? These are only on her face and a couple on her ears.

Did your DD’s just go down without crusting/scabbing?

@Bambi7 sorry for the 21 questions! But how long did your DD’s take from start to end if you can remember? I don’t want to seem neurotic going back to the GP in a couple of weeks if I can avoid!

They were on one area so I was unsure at first but basically it was a mild version of CP. They never crusted or filled with pus. They went to being just red marks and then disappeared.

This can happen with the vaccine or with natural immunity.

Chicken pox is rife at the moment.

Maybe 4/5 days but every child is different. In my opinion you don't need to go to the doctors if it's CP. We didn't. I gave him some anti itching meds (but it was only one spot that itched for a day) and some calpol for a slight temp he had for one day. I don't usually give calpol for a slight temperature as it the bodies way of fighting infection.

With spots you do the clear glass check (for meningitis) and if it's not that then you focus on whether the child is comfortable or not.

Bambi7 · 24/05/2022 17:44

Does she have any symptoms? Is she uncomfortable? Does she have a temp?

If not I wouldn't worry too much. Just keep an eye on her.

Have you done the glass test?

SB1712 · 24/05/2022 17:54

@Bambi7 I’ve done the glass test multiple times both on holiday and when they reappeared a week later and they do disappear.

She isn’t uncomfortable and they don’t appear to be bothering her/itchy. She doesn’t have a temperature either and her body is clear.

I didnt go to the GP thinking they were chicken pox but more because they went down then reappeared. However, in a way hoped they were because I know that’s a process and they’ll bw gone within a week or two. I feel there’s a bit of a question mark over them at the moment but I’ll watch and wait and see what happens.

Thanks for your help
