I've had problems down there over the last month, slightly itchy, sore vagina that was a bit red. I was tested for lots but all negative.

My daughter 5 now has a sore red mini. I'm wondering if it could have been passed via a towel or something. Il call the doctors but wondering what it could be? Any ideas?

It's worth saying I've cut out any body washes etc and I don't think that could be the cause

What are you using to wash yours/her pants with?
Try something different or use a hand wash fluid. Rinse thoroughly.
Years ago I had a similar issue. All tests negative. Changed my washing powder (before gels etc came about) & it cleared up. Mystery solved.
Likewise I can’t use toothpaste with a red stripe in it. Gives me raging sore throats. Weird.
Hope you and LO soon feel better.

Thread worms.

Phos · 23/05/2022 20:18

You've probably already ruled this out but there are certain bubble baths that cause my daughter to have this problem. Don't affect her skin anywhere else but real discomfort around her vulva when we use them.

fluffycereal · 23/05/2022 20:19

Were you been sharing towels with your child whilst you were under investigation for vaginal problems?

gamerchick · 23/05/2022 20:20

You keep posting about yourself and your itchyness. Treat for thrush anyway. It's just a pessery.

But yeah, may be worth a worm treatment, especially in a kid that age.

CaptainMyCaptain · 23/05/2022 20:23

Are you using bio washing powder? I had a similar problem years ago and this turned out to be the cause.

Tottie · 23/05/2022 20:23

What toilet tissue do you use? Have you changed it recently?
Just a thought....I can't use any tissues with Aloe Vera, Shea butter or Coconut oil in them, due to having a similar reaction to what you're describing. It's really not very nice is it?
Hope you find out what it is soon and you can both get back to having comfortable "mini's" again 😊

Same in our house when tesco substituted our loo roll for a coconut and shea one. Although my DD6 is prone generally (to thrush) for a long time and 2 courses of probiotics sorted her out.

purplecorkheart · 23/05/2022 20:37

Have you changed brands of washing powder, soap, toilet paper etc or does anything that you use have the nightmare print on it saying new and improved. What temp are you doing your washing at?

Don't feed people...

Wheredoestheblackfluffcomefrom · 23/05/2022 20:42

Toilet roll? Just use white.

AMBE123 · 23/05/2022 20:42

My DD used to wake up at night crying with an itchy vulva, turned out to be worms. Not sure how they made her vulva itch rather than her bottom, but worms is what it was, wormed her and she was fine after that.

DickeryDock · 23/05/2022 20:52

Whenever my daughter wakes up in night crying saying her vagina is sore it is always worms! I can literally see them moving. Never has she ever complained of an itchy bottom it’s always sore vagina as her first symptom. Whole family treated… problem solved

Notsureaboutusername · 23/05/2022 20:54

Toilet rolls with balm of some sort in them.

Because they can find their way into the vagina in girls
