Swollen Eyes

My daughter has had a swollen eye since Monday, no discharge but watering. We presumed it was a stye so used hot compresses and calpol.
It had got slightly worse on Wednesday so I took her to the walk in centre who said they thought it was a bug bite, no infection, treat with piriton.
She's woke this morning and the swollen eye is worse and now her other eye is puffy and looks similar!
I took her to the walk in again and they have said it's either an allergy, stye or orbital cellulitis.. to monitor and take the hospital tomorrow if any worse.

Anyone had anything similar? I didn't think a stye or cellulitis would present in both eyes?

Thanks in advance 😊

Have you tried an antihistamine?

My child gets this and it's allergy related, piriton tends to help

Is she still having piriton? If an allergy/ hayfever, she'll need the medication regularly as indicated.

She was having piriton every 4 hours yesterday. I haven't gave any today as we've been waiting at the walk in, but will give her some more now. Do I just keep giving until they calm down? She's never had an allergic reaction before.

Piriton doesn't work for my allergies, maybe try something else if it isn't working.

Oral antihistamines don't work for my son's hayfever eye symptoms, so he has eye drops. They are amazing for him and we just use once a day. My other son can just take a daily cetirizine for his symptoms.

How old is she? Twice-daily cetirizine might be an option if over 6yrs. It is generally non-drowsy, unlike piriton.
