Constipation? Distraught two year old

Hi everyone little girl is two and for a while now has struggled to go to the toilet. Recently she’s had blood in her poo.
tmi but her pops are not rock hard , they are soft. But they are not far off the size of tennis balls.
I spoke to the doctor who says they think she’s constipated.

she doesn’t eat vegetables even if they are hidden . Buts eat lots of fruit and juices. She also has prunes each day . Which left her poo mushy and soft with water in . She still screamed when passing this

can she be constipated if her poos are soft? It’s like her body cannot squeeze the poo into a passable shape and that’s why she’s struggling .

we’ve been given lactulose and suppositories.

im debating if there is something underlying with her. Shall I carry on giving her the prunes with the lactulose

thankyou

Sounds the same as my 2 year old. Lactulose gave her a stomach ache so even though her poo wasn’t hard, she was getting cramps while trying to pass it. She’s on movicol now which is much better - maybe ask the GP to switch?

As to whether it’s normal or not I don’t know. I find it odd the way my daughter poops but doctors don’t seem concerned 🤷🏼‍♀️
