Baby & chicken pox

Hi everyone

My 4 yo woke up with chicken pox and is currently at home. I have a 5 month old as well and I'm really worried he'll catch it too. He's caught everything we had before such as covid/ bronchitis and meningitis after his bronchitis. etc so I'm really worried he'll be next to have chicken pox 😔

My 4 year old is vaccinated against it but somehow still has quite a few spots on his tummy and back.
The 6 month old isn't vaccinated as I think it's only given after they turn 1

If your baby has had chicken pox .. were they well? I'm so anxious I feel sick

My ds had it around that age after dd gave it to him. He wasn't too bad with it and couldn't really scratch it. Having it under 1 year can make it more likely to have childhood shingles and he did have that too when he was 3

Thanks for the reply!
It's so hard with a second child as they seem to catch everything from the elder sibling 🙈

My 7 month old has just had it after catching it from her 4y old sibling. She was completely covered in spots, but really fine, please try not to worry, although I know it's hard (I get quite anxious too!) After 2 or 3 days she was back to her normal self. I feel bad as she has had bronchiolitis and covid too, but it can't be helped. Hopefully they're building a strong immune system for the future!

dd2 had it at six months old. Also caught from older sibling. She was absolutely covered and we had probably one night with quite a high temperature that was a bit scary but probably worse because I suffer with anxiety. She only has two small scars which is surprising given how bad she looked. Try not to let all the stuff on Google scare you. Just remember you can’t give them ibuprofen. Only paracetamol

Hi,
my daughter had it at 5 months, I’ll be honest she was covered head to toe, and was quite unwell, she also developed childhood shingles.
