Extraction of baby teeth

Hi, my DD (12) has been told by orthodontist she needs to have 3 baby teeth extracted to allow adult teeth to come through - currently 'stuck' and a couple of them have even switched places so coming through in the wrong place.

Quite an extreme overbite as well so this is all in anticipation of orthodontic treatment which can start once more adult teeth come through.

Does anyone have experience of this - baby tooth extraction? What will it be like for her and how will she feel afterwards?

Thank you

My kids all retained baby teeth far too long (DD15 recently had a visit from the tooth fairy and it won't be her last!) but only my 12yo has so far, needed extractions and she was absolutely fine. The teeth to be pulled were absolutely huge with roots that didn't point straight down so it was a case of the dentist pulling and twisting and fighting for about half an hour each (Different sessions), but DD was fine. No pain after. Just that usual, to be expected, tender feeling and having to take extra care whilst eating and drinking for a couple of days after. She really didn't give it much thought.

DS has had a couple out. Had a local anaesthetic with the first and he didn't even realise it had been done (injection or extraction) second one the dentist just said oh thats hanging on by a thread and whipped it out. No bother at all!

DS had two molars out this week for the same reason. It was just an ordinary check up appointment but while we were there the dentist found the letter from the orthodontist and just whipped them out. I think it was all over in 25 minutes or less from him going in, and that included anaesthetic and xray.

I had 4 baby canines pulled when I was 14 as there were no signs of them budging!
Had local anaesthetic (freaked out a bit with that as it was my first time) and it was very quick and simple as there weren't big roots.

The worst problem was that my entire mouth was numb! Eating and drinking was a bit tricky for that evening, but don't remember any pain after it wore off.

Both DS here had baby teeth out for orthodontic work. They were 14 or 15 and the teeth still not loose!
DS1 had three out in one go, DS2 four. They had really long roots but no issues.
