Has anyone had their child vaccinated successfully? It is not part of the plan but I would still like my child to have it. Please share your experience. Where did you get it, how much did it cost? Thanks!

We booked at Boots for late last year but the cancelled and seemed to scaling back the service, not sure if that was just temporary.

Rebooked at Superdrug for early this year. £70 per vaccine, two vaccines 4 weeks apart. No side effects and pleased we decided to do it.

Wonderful! Thank you for sharing! Glad to hear that. Will def do that! My eldest is vaccinated but we did it in another country so didn't know it was possible in the UK

Superdrug around £150. All fine, no side effects.

Liverbird77 · 03/04/2022 17:55

We had both of ours vaccinated as soon as possible. As above, no issues whatsoever.

Done at Boots last Autumn. Such a relief not to have to worry about it

gunnersgold · 03/04/2022 17:57

I did it a few weeks ago for my son who has swerved it many times and as he gets older I was worried it would affect him
More .. it cost me £70 at an independent chemist .

gunnersgold · 03/04/2022 17:58

Zero side affects here too ! Literally didn't stop for a sec although he freaked at the injection , I told her to just do it quickly and she did .

DS had it done at superdrug, no complaints. We decided to go for it as he has to have steroids and chickenpox and steroids is not a good mix!.

ItsSnowJokes · 03/04/2022 18:01

Had it done 3.5 years ago. Paid about £65 per vaccine (you need two 4-6 weeks apart). No side effects, and hasn't caught chicken pox even though it is everywhere around us at the moment.

My niece did and still got chicken pox.

My son has chicken pox now and only has a Few spots.

DaisyDozyDee · 03/04/2022 19:43

We got my son vaccinated in Boots last year. £150 for 2 doses. He did end up catching chicken pox recently, but got very few spots and none of them blistered. He missed 2 days of school while we waited to see if it would turn in to proper chicken pox, but he wasn’t at all unwell with it.

DoubleChinWoes2 · 03/04/2022 19:46

Both of mine are done, at about one and a half. Cost £150 each for both doses, at boots. I think it's great, and recommend everyone considers it.

Timide · 03/04/2022 22:15

Thanks everyone for sharing! Will book an appointment

No children, but I had the vaccine myself last year. I had it at Boots and paid £140 for both vaccines. For me there were no side effects at all and while I’m not aware that I’ve come into contact with chickenpox since the vaccine, it’s worth it for the peace of mind.
