Toddler cough

My 22 month old DD had a cold/cough which started 5 weeks ago. I took her to the GP twice in 2 weeks (as she wasn’t eating) who said it was viral.

It got better for a few days but came back and she’s still coughing quite badly, especially at night. She was coughing so bad the other night, she puked.

She’s also teething and cutting 2 molars and 4 canines so naturally has been congested, I’ve been putting the cough down to being snotty, dribbling etc.

Should I take her to the GP for a 3rd time or wait and see if it goes when these teeth have fully cut? She’s fine in herself, eating, drinking and full of beans.

Hi @Vicky1989x, we're just moving your thread over to our Children's Health topic and giving it a bump. Hopefully some Mumsnetters will be along soon with some advice for you and your poor DD Flowers

And another bump.

DD was similar, maybe ask GP to get a referral for her adenoids. Her consultant prescribed unifed which helped a lot. She had a course of antibiotics previously but her consultant said that she basically had a sinus infection which hadn’t been treated properly, her adenoids weren’t huge but enlarged enough to basically make small infections stick.

At first we were told that children this age would either be getting colds etc one after the other etc, which is clearly true but she was basically sick constantly (and I mean literally no days without coughing or runny nose) for months.

@Rinatinabina Your poor DD! Glad you got an answer though.

Incidentally her cough has improved a lot since I posted but I’ll definitely take her back to the GP if it gets bad again quickly (like it did before). Thanks for your reply.
