Sun cream for baby with eczema?

Hi all, can anyone recommend a sun cream for babies with eczema? DS is nearly six months and we are going to Florida at the end of May (hopefully, long as we don’t get covid first…). We will use hats and have ordered a snooze shade type thing and will stay in shade when we can but I will still want to put sun cream on him. He has very dry skin and some eczema but it is fairly well controlled with just sudocrem and double base cream. I have researched and saw Child’s Farm is recommended but thought I would see if anyone had any experience Smile

We always used Nivea factor 50 on our children with eczema. Also worth getting a full body spf swimsuit.

Ah thank you! I have done so much googling but somehow didn’t find this Confused

La Roche Posay helped me with my child with neurodermatitis.

Do not use Nivea factor 50

My DS who doesn't have any skin issues got a persistent area of dry skin on his face which we eventually got rid of by using Vaseline from using bloody Nivea factor 50 for children

We've never touched a factor 50 since

We love using Riemann P30 it's a dry oil, kind to our skin and a very effective sunscreen

Thank you all! Lots of options, I might get one/two types and do a patch test x

My dermatologist recommended Altruist (can buy on Amazon). Its developed by dermatologists specifically for those with skin conditions - its the only one I can use (I have eczema).
And its quite cheap for a big tube.

Boots baby sensitive was great for my son

dameofdilemma · 14/03/2022 13:08

And just to add I tried La Roche Posay, Eucerin, Boots sensitive etc and all caused my skin to react.
The worst one for dd when her eczema was bad was Childs Farm.

FurForksSake · 14/03/2022 13:08

Altruist, here, too. It is very good and recommended via a dermatologist for my son with eczema.

Caspianberg · 14/03/2022 13:09

Piz buin is also very good. Ds doesn’t have terrible skin, but reacts to certain toiletries. Piz buin sun dream and weleda anything else like shampoo/ nappy cream seem to be a good combo

As an adult I can’t use many sun creams either, especially on face as make eyes sting, but piz buin great. I usually buy factor 30 for all over, and a small face one at 50

Twilightstarbright · 14/03/2022 13:20

Our dermatologist recommended mustela or la Roche posay for DS.

bumpyknuckles · 14/03/2022 14:16

I've used Child's Farm sun cream with my little one since she was about 6 months. She used to have terrible eczema, but CF never made it flare up. We still use it now, and she's 3!

Brunonononooo · 14/03/2022 15:23

Ok it seems I might need to do some testing as everyone has reacted to different things! Thank you all again. The altruist one sounds promising I will look at that.

We use childs Farm on dd with eczema and it has been fine

idontevenknowanyonecalledblurb · 15/03/2022 12:40

We've always used child farm for sensitive skin or Ladival - both are good
