1 year old ENT appointment

Hi, wondering if anyone else has had similar with their baby and can shed any light. We have an appointment with an ENT specialist soon for my 1 year old son, to begin with the referral was made when he had a couple of nose bleeds when he’d been crying quite hard. However I now have quite a few concerns about various symptoms that could be related and I think most would be relevant for an ENT doctor to look at. He’s had congestion pretty much since birth and seems to always have a runny nose, even when it’s not a viral type cold. He drools excessively and continuously, needing a change of bib or top every hour. He struggles with swallowing textured foods and can only really cope with smooth purées at just over 1, and isn’t making much progress.

Overall he’s a pretty happy little boy although can be very unsettled and doesn’t sleep fantastically, and he’s otherwise meeting all his milestones.

Any thoughts of what I should be asking or what could be up? Or just coincidence and all normal?

I always think it is useful to write a note of your thoughts, observations and questions before you go, so you don't forget to mention things.
Where possible, be as 'numerical' as you can - so the "Changing his bib everr hour" is a great measure to add to "drools excessively", whereas "always to have a runny nose" is something we commonly say, but, if at all possible, can you observe and note more precisely when it happens ? (When he wakes up / goes outside / after food / been lying down / etc).
Again, with "doesn't sleep fantastically" can you make a note over a week of his sleep pattern. What some of us think is a "good night's sleep" would be a bad night for another child. What some of us think of as a 'nap in the afternoon' would be different from what another of us considers 'a nap'.
If you have thought about detail like that beforehand, it is really helpful for the Drs you see Smile

Thank you @Kite22, that’s really helpful advice. I will make some notes and include some metrics ahead of the appointment!
