I'm thinking of putting on a claim for DLA for my son and carers but I think I might get rejected, the only care extra he needs is giving him is medication every morning and night, reminding him to go to toliet and drink plenty.
He's got PUV and he's urinating without him realising so I have to wash his clothes more often aswell.
Do you think it's worth ago?

Hi OP. What us PUV? How old is your son?
Posterior urethral valves (PUV) are obstructive membranes that develop in the urethra (tube that drains urine from the bladder), close to the bladder. The valve can obstruct or block the outflow of urine through the urethra. He had a scan not long ago showing that urine is going back up his tubes and causing reflux in his kidneys. It took 4 were in a space of 20 mins to empty is bladder and there was still some in there.

He's 7

Hi! I know it’s been a while since you posted this but I was wondering if you applied and if so what was the outcome? My son also has PUV but also left MCDK so he has one functioning kidney. I have to do everything possible to make sure he doesn’t get a uti, and to keep that kidney alive, as the conditions together commonly cause CKD. I’m not sure if I’d be accepted though!

Hi, I didn't end up applying then, I have recently applied just waiting for a decision.
