Recurrent vomiting, loss of appetite and tummy pains

I'm riddled with anxiety about this. I'm not usually one to worry overly and rarely take my children to the drs (unless I feel they need medication for something etc) but DD (4) has been sick one or twice a week for the past 3 weeks (this started with what seemed like a 24 hour stomach bug).

She's off her food, playschool have noticed she's tired, leaving lunch, more clingy and pale too.

I'm just really worried it's something hideous.

She's never been a marvellous eater but you'd always be able to cook her a "safe" meal that she'd eat 80% of and there was always an appetite for chocolate. I can tell she's hungry as she wants to try and eat but instantly gets a tummy pain. She seems to be throwing up in the night only...

Has anyone else had a similar experience? I'm after a hit of reassurance as I've gone from someone who's pretty rational to someone convinced my child's got a terrible illness.

Hope someone can help (will be calling drs on Monday)

Covid recently?

Or teeth coming through?

My youngest seems to get cycles of vomitting.
2019 nov 2 episodes
2020 jan and mar apr(during lockdown)
2021 jul
2022 jan (2 days apart)

Mainly its not d&v as noone else ill. But she has a habit of swallowing water when swimming.
Then reflux from teeth causing vomitting so that was the 2022 one as central upper incisors coming in.

I’d also say it sounds like it could be covid - some of the kids in my extended family have had very similar symptoms.

My DD (almost 4) had covid and was off her food for a few weeks.

I have no idea what it is I'm afraid, but just wanted to say that one of my friend's children (her DD is 2) has had the same thing. Initially thought it was a stomach bug, but there was about a week between vomiting. In the meantime she's pale, clingy, and just generally 'off'. Doctor couldn't find anything in particular, so they're no further forth, but there's clearly some kind of weird bug going around?

A tummy bug can affect dairy tolerance. Does she have much milk in her diet? Try bland digestives, bananas and white rice for a few days. I hope she feels better soon.

Thanks so much everyone for reassuring me. It does seem that this has been triggered by the stomach bug she had. It was just a 24 hour thing but was a typical vomiting bug with a temp etc. she was scoffing chips but the evening.
I do wonder if you could be right saying potentially covid or a dairy intolerance since the bug.
I'm going to try and use half term week as a reset and keep the diet simple. We've just been giving her whatever she wants because I just wanted her to have something.

@durdledoo did your little one get better? How long did it take?

My DS is the same age and has been exactly the same, except he never even vomited. Did have a few more bowel movements, slightly loose but that's it. Yet he still won't eat a week later, he wants to but can only manage a mouthful. Pale, clingy.

I'm also starting to freak out that he has a terrible illness!
