Looks quite swollen. I'd see the doc. Toenails sometimes don't growback right when damaged. Worth a professional opinion.

That might need some antibiotics.

And definitely keep an eye on it. My DD did similar and kept getting repeated infections. Eventually it turned into an ingrowing toenail and ended up having a partial removal.

That looks infected. I agree it’s reasonable to get an appointment. You could also ask a pharmacist in the meantime. At home you can try a footbath with hot salty water (table salt is fine, you want the water hot but not hot enough to cause burns). Salt helps to draw out any pus and is anti bacterial.

Thanks everyone managed to get the doc and sent a picture waiting on a call back !
We actually had this on her thumb when she was about 9 months and was green 🤢
Less red again today but sore to touch as I'm sure there's a wee ingrown nail x

It does look ingrown so ask the doctor to refer her to the podiatrist, thier waiting lists are huge so it's best to get on ASAP. Doctors will just throw antibiotics at it and not address the underlying cause.

Jenny2020 · 07/02/2022 11:33

Ok thanks I will give them a call in a few days if it doesn't get worse and say I can see it ingrown !
The things you need to do to see people these days is horrendous ! Xx

We saw a podiatrist privately in the end. I think it was £30 for the initial consult, about £150 for the actual surgery and then £30 each follow up consult. We had the surgery done the next day!!
