One child always more ill than the other

I have two children but one of them always seems to be hit worse than the other with any bugs/viruses they both get. He always gets a higher fever that's much harder to bring down with calpol/ibuprofen and it always seems to last so much longer with him. I wouldn't say he gets ill any more often than the other, it's just when he does it's always worse.

For example, other child had a tummy bug, a few episodes of diarrhoea and one of vomiting but no temperature and was otherwise absolutely fine in himself and over it in 24 hours. Then this child started with vomiting in the early hours of Thursday, again early hours Friday, nothing Saturday or Sunday but again at 2am this morning and again just now. He ranges from being absolutely fine in himself to being tired and feeling sorry for himself and has had a very slightly raised temperature for 24 hours on day 2 (only up to 37.7). He's mainly eating fine but hasn't eaten much at all tonight.

I don't know whether to be concerned or not, either about how long this particular bug has gone on for or about how illness seems to affect him generally. Is it normal for two siblings to cope with the same illness so differently?

Always best to discuss with a doctor but as a child I always got hit much harder by viruses than my sister. I still do! She was asymptomatic with covid, I had a fever of 40 and was ill for 2 weeks +. Some of us are just unlucky that way!

My sister always had everything worse than me. She also had viral meningitis, terrible appendicitis, and additional emergency surgery. She was just a sickly kid.

She’s a healthy robust adult these days with no issues, I think it just happens.

Thanks @Roseandgeranium, I'll call the GP tomorrow, just wondered if anyone had been in a similar situation before I drive myself crazy with my own theories. It's reassuring that your sister is fine now @Joxster.
