Rash that doesn't fade, hospital?

I spotted a rash on my one year olds legs yesterday and it doesn't disappear with a glass and she's been being a little sick. Called 111 and they told me to get a gp appointment did that and got a telephone one which then I had to send photos of the rash neither the doctors or 111 seemed concerned and I don't think the pictures show how it is no matter how many times I've tried taking them! My husband thinks that means she's fine but I'm worrying that she should be seen in person and not sure what to be doing she seems overall okay a bit grumpy and a little sicky but the rash is worrying me has anyone been through similar? Should I take her to a&e?

If in doubt i would always get checked, better safe than sorry especially for your child. Get them checked in person.

My son had this in his face it was a week day and the photos were not showing very well either. My dr got us in right away to be checked. My son was lucky it was burst blood vessels from being sick. But he told.me if in doubt always get it checked out. Its so hard to tell in pictures and if I was you I would probably go get it checked.

Definitely get it checked. My son was admitted to hospital when he had high temp and the tiniest couple of pin pricks of rash. They treated him for possible meningitis. Luckily it turned out not to be serious but I was surprised how seriously they took a few red dots.

100% to A&E

I would try 111 again as an out of hours GP will be able to take a look in person. My son was sent to hospital with a pinprick rash and they told me they definitely need to check pinpricks on the legs out.

Thanks all, I've called 111 again and am currently waiting on an on call doctor thanks again

If it was meningitis she'd be really unwell so try not to worry too much - lots of things can cause petechiae so doctors look for the combination of rash with specific symptoms rather than just the rash iykwim.

If there's no high temp, no light sensitivity, vomiting etc and the rash has been present since yesterday and isn't spreading, the chances of it having a serious cause are very low.

Obvs get proper advice though.

I would be getting them assessed, they can be a sign of things like vasculitis, meningitis and blood illnesses.

Hope all is well @Phoenix1901

Very late to see this but:

Ds used to get viral rashes regularly. Not always the same looking (he had big 2p piece sized, pin pricks sized, coming out so quickly you could watch them come out, blue ones, red ones, etc...) but they normally didn't fade under glass.
The GP sent us to A&E for a blood test pretty much every time just to make sure.

BUT A&E did say to me that it was very very unlikely to be meningitis if he was still behaving reasonably well. The spots are a later symptom of meningitis, and they found it frustrating that people took it as a main symptom as by the time the spots come out they're normally clearly very unwell and the illness has got a nasty hold so harder to treat.

So the chances are your dc is going to be okay, but yes always take to A&E where they'll do bloods and make sure.
