Hello! My 3 year old had a cold/cough last 2 days, during the day he's okay, but when he's sleeping nap/during the night it rises to 39.3 and just now it's 39.7, nurofen did bring it down yesterday but he's refusing to take it now, any tricks or tips please?! Getting worried about this temperature

Use a calpol syringe instead of a nurofen one. Works for my 3yo every time!

Can you put it in a small Ella's kitchen pouch? I used to suck a bit out then put dose in and give it a good shake when DC was younger. Now it's bribery if needed but generally she likes the taste and asks for more!

My 3 year old will squirt it from the syringe himself if we tell him its a trombone and he's the music man!

@Divebar2021

You are just delaying the recovery

I think you’re going to have to provide a source for that assertion. NHS advice for children with a temperature is to give paracetamol

Your own source agrees with me Wink

"Only if distressed or unwell."

Op has updated and confirmed he is poorly so neurofen is being used correctly.
