Is my baby just a "sicky baby"

Please please help! I'm at my wits end and a total loss as to what I should do next.

Back story - baby born at 38wks, I knew straight away he had tongue tie & also inguinal hernia.
Tongue tie was eventually cut at 11wks (total battle to get it done!) and he has a consultation appointment for his hernia which will hopefully result in surgery!
But with everything that's gone on with my baby he is very very sicky!
He's been on 4 different types of formulas (aptamil normal, aptamil comfort, cow & gate normal once aptamil started having production problems and now Kendamil anti colic!) and he keeps being sick. He burps fine, but after every feed he's sick. Once he drifts off for a nap he can even wake up being sick or if he's playing in his playmat a couple of hrs after a feed he can be sick too.
I was told it was reflux so was given gaviscon but I'm scared he will develop intolerances or dependency on helping him digest food by being on it so much which is why I moved him to Kendamil anti colic but he is still so sicky!!!
Please please help I'm at a total loss as to what I can do - I just want a happy non sicky baby! (He's 5 months this month)
TIA

Is it full on sick or lots of little possets?

My first was constantly bringing little bits of milk up but didn't seem distressed in any way, there were no obvious reasons why so we just had lots of spare clothes, sheets etc to keep clean!

Looking back he would guzzle down milk and I think he was just taking in too much so maybe little and often would've been better - he's 15 now and still prefers to graze than have a large meal.

What's his feeding schedule like? Maybe try breaking it down so he's getting less at each feed but as till the same amount.

We were advised to start introducing foods at 17 weeks by our doctor and he was off formula/bottles by 11 months which helped a lot although definitely needs to be done under medical supervision to monitor weight and growth.

It's a mixture tbh! Sometimes full on sick and others just mouthfuls at a time.
He has 4-5 bottles a day and is on 7oz.
I was told to gradually start weaning so he has an occasional rusk a day and puréed fruit/veg too.
Honestly I can't wait until he's fully weaned and off formula it's draining 😭

My nephew was like this. They were given carobel which, I think, is a thickener. It helped I think.
He's a strapping 14 year old now. It will get better.

Oh really?? That's helpful to know thank you! Just gets you down having an uncomfortable sicky baby and there's no "real" reason why he's being like that 😣

My DD had reflux and was a champion puker, I mean, across the room projectile vomiting. It was honestly so so draining. She was on gaviscon, it helped with the pain but not with the sick. I weaned early on paediatric advice at 5 months but it just made her sick didn’t colours Grin I’d say I saw an improvement around 12/13 months and she finally stopped puking everything up.

She’s 20 months and I’ve only just managed to get her off the gaviscon.

I know how draining it is to constantly be cleaning up sick but if he’s otherwise happy, gaining weight well then I wouldn’t worry too much.
