Hi guys I’m a bit worried about my 23 month old, she flaps her hands since she was about 8 months (more like a twirls and stiffens) a few seconds when she’s excited or watching tv. I know this maybe a sign of Autsim. She doesn’t have any other signs apart from doesn’t talk much she can say most words and is able to communicate with me but no sentences. Has any one else’s child flapped at this age. She is a fussy eater and doesn’t like certain textures.. mainly worries about hand flapping and twirling toes

All mine flapped at that age. I did too. Although DD was more like jazz hands. I did too. DS stopped at 7, DS2 (13) still occasionally does as does DD (10). I occasionally have a flap too (45).
DS1 attends grammar school and is high achieving. Although not very social.
DS2 has a diagnosis of auditory processing, although again is very high achieving and not very sociable.
DD is very sociable, but has in-attentive ADHD.
I don’t have any SEN and am fairly high achieving and quite sociable.

My LO (nearly 18 months old) has done this since he was little. He hand flaps and straightens his legs when he's excited or wants to be taken out of his high chair. I am also concerned this could be a sign for autism. He walks on his tip toes too and has very little language. But he will point to things of interest and has some understanding x
