Newborn babies twitching

Hi
Hoping someone can advise..
I'm a FTM to twins. They were both born 6 weeks early and are now 7 weeks old (but the equivalent of 1 week old if they'd have been born at term).
As soon as they hit "full term" both babies were very alert and started to wake instantly for feeds (sometimes 1.5 hours sometimes 3.5 so difficult to predict).
The issue is both get very stressed when waiting to be fed and cry very loudly to the point that even after they are being fed and settled they will twitch slightly. It doesn't seem to bother them and they will both fall asleep during their twitch phase which then passes but it's really worrying for me and DP as it's clearly stress response but as their feeding is so erratic (and as twins someone always has to wait) it's impossible to predict...

Any wise words of advice, please??

Try record it on your phone and show it to your health visitor/gp.

Can you describe the twitch?

If associated with falling asleep, sleep myoclonus (essentially, Greek for muscle-twitching) is quite common and completely benign. Worth checking in with your midwife / health visitor if you feel in need of a proper professional opinion.
