6.5 year old in night nappies- sleepover??

My DS 6.5 still wets every night, perfectly fine in daytime. Have tried all the usual tricks less drinks in evening etc but to no avail- read about the hormone developing in its own time and that's totally fine with us- no issues with his wearing nappies at night- buy the 'cool' looking ones and he never mentions it. Spoke to GP when we were there for something else and they said they wouldn't even consider doing anything until at least 7.

So...beavers are having a sleepover in the hall next month- the first thing he said was that he couldn't go as everyone would see his nappy Sad I was shocked as he'd never mentioned it in a negative light before but I do understand he's getting older etc. he's only ever slept over at grandparents before.

How can I encourage him to go/make it seem like he's not wearing one?? He has some allergies meaning he carries medication just in case so I was thinking to put it plus the nappy in a wash bag and asking the leader to say to him 'time for your medicine Rory' then hand him the bag and he goes into toilet by himself and put it on? Same thing in morning and I'll deal with the nappy at home? I doubt a bunch of 6-8 yr old boys would bat an eyelid at that?? Also thought I could give him his onesie to wear as PJs so there's no nappy showing out the top of PJ bottoms??
On one hand I want him to know it's nothing to be ashamed of and in reality he's hardly likely to be the only one?? But also respect his reluctance but I would hate for him to miss out on an exciting opportunity- does that seem right or does anyone have any other suggestions?? Thanks!!

My sister did similar with her DC. The leaders are used to it and he won't be the only one. Would he be embarrassed if he thought the leader knew?
