Impetigo on my baby's bum?

PLEASE HELP!

We have taken our daughter to the doctors yesterday they prescribed a cream for herpes simplex (cold sores) but I don't think it's been effective as I believe the horrible sores on her bottom is impetigo. She started off on 24th December having a grazed knee it was tiny then all of a sudden two days later there was a massive sore ( just like the sores on her bottom) the doctors appointment was initially for the 'grazed' knee. Then on the day of the doctors appointment she came up in little blister like sores on her bottom but they weren't as large as they are now so the doctor wasn't sure what is was hense prescribing cold sore cream. We have an appointment to go back to the doctors tomorrow so will suggest impetigo cream, however the issue is that whenever she wears a nappy it just keeps rubbing and rubbing making the sores even bigger and more angry. She doesn't wear a nappy in the daytime so the sores can air as much as possible, so the issue is during the night. What can I do to help treat the potential impetigo, and how can I make it as comfy as possible when she does wear the nappy? I have been so overwhelmed with her extremely sore bottom, and I can't even imagine the pain she's in. She's just turned 1 years old and this is the first time getting it. My mum suggested if it is impetigo to get rid off all sugar in her diet (including carbohydrates) as I had impetigo as a baby and the doctor told her to do that with me. Is this correct as I can't find any advice to do this online? Thank you! And sorry for the horrible pictures!
