2 year old knee pain

My DS is 25 months and has been complaining of left knee pain for a few weeks now. He has no limp and is still skipping and jumping like a bunny. He tells me it hurts and then runs about giggling a minute later. I've booked a GP appointment but it's a week away and I'm starting to get concerned as it's not going away. He didn't have any obvious bangs or falls.

Google isn't helping and brings up all sorts of scary answers.

As he's so young, I'm not convinced it's growing pains.

Anyone had similar experiences with their little one?

at that age children can't really communicate well yet.
pain could be deferred from hip or foot.

unexplained pain in legs, especially one sided, should always be investigated.

good for you geting him seen.

Yep, communication is definitely an issue as he often won't give you a straight answer if you ask where it hurts or if it still hurts. Very frustrating.

To update for any readers:

We saw GP today who did a thorough check on a not very cooperative 2 year old!

The GP was pleased that the pain isn't persistent, doesn't wake him up at night and doesn't cause a limp.
She couldn't find anything when examining his legs and isn't concerned right now.

I do wonder if it is a burning feeling from his eczema as it can flare behind his knees.

He hasn't mentioned any pain today or yesterday so I'm hoping it's a thing of the past!
