Hey everyone can anyone please help a worried mum. I may be over worrying but I would like some advice or reassurance please
My daughters 2 she’s had lymph nodes up in her groin pea sizes so just a little swollen an ultra sound was done and told they were just under 1cm so there not concerned this was about 10 months ago they have never gone. I kept going back but doctors said they weren’t worried but
Today she has chicken pox at the moment but her groin lymph nodes are very very big u can see them they are that big :( I’m panicking and thinking the worst:’(

Did anyone else’s toddlers have groin lymph nodes that went really big during chicken pox?
Should I be worried about all of the above.
Do u have any experience with groin lymph nodes,
Thankyou for reading I really appreciate it. Currently sat here crying :( xxx

Lymph nodes are part of the infection fighting system of the body. They commonly get big when fighting off an infection, such as chicken pox.

Thankyou so much so they should go down when the chicken pox is gone x

Gradually, yes. If they don't settle back down to how they were after a few weeks, then might be worth seeing your GP.

My son has 2 pea sized lymph nodes in his neck that are visible when he moves certain ways, been like that since he was a tiny baby - they have been checked by our GP who has no concern at all. They get bigger when he's sick and go back to the pea size when he's better but they are always slightly visible. He's perfectly healthy 8 year old x

Personally if the lymph nodes aren't gone after the chicken pox, coupled with the night sweats and constant tiredness/infections I would be keeping on at the GP and asking for specialist referrals (although not sure which specialists would be best?)
This isn't a medical opinion btw, this is just the opinion of another mum with a young DD. I always think it's better to be safe, and I'd want different things checking to get to the bottom of it

Keep bugging the doctors

Sweet Jesus @Sammylouiise. Tell your GP to get off their arse and refer your DD to children's hospital. This has been going on 10 months coupled with night sweats. It needs investigating. If necessary get your DH to take DD to the GP, as unfortunately most GPs see mothers as hysterical, while fathers are 'concerned'.
