Would u be concerned if your little one kept having bowel movements like these? Really pale in colour and have mucus in them.

She's bottle fed on special milk for allergies not weaning yet so never had anything different in her diet

100% I would be worried, I'd take them to the doctors asap

alongwayhome · 23/12/2021 11:18

Yes I would be - have you spoken to a doctor about it?

nitsandwormsdodger · 23/12/2021 11:20

NHS 111 or Doctor is for questions like this not mumsnet

northernmamax · 23/12/2021 11:37

Reason I was asking is because I have told my doctors and they have said nothing to worry about. Wanted to know other people's opinions before I tried 111.

My dd had nappies like that for the whole first year of her life and drs refused to take it seriously. It eventually turned out that she has a problem digesting milk fats. We were basically told at 18 months to limit all dairy, and only use skimmed milk (which she is fine with).

I am not giving you advice of what to do though. I'm just telling you what we were told. This was in 2013/14 though.

Even now (age 9) if she has a milkshake etc she gets terrible stomach pain and diarrhoea.

iklboodolphrednosedpaindear · 23/12/2021 12:44

Definitely call the doctor.

My 2 year old gets nappies like that when she has had a stomach bug

northernmamax · 23/12/2021 13:18

Now it's gone like this! Sent off a sample with the doctors that they were very reluctant to take for some reason. See what happens with that.

Thanks for advice everyone, I'm glad you're all concerned too because I think the doctor made me feel like a drama queen. She's only 4 months still so young so obviously would rather be safe than sorry!

She does have a cows milk protein allergy and is on special milk for this so I don't see why all of sudden now anything should be changing, but from this most recent mucusy dark nappy I'm guessing she has caught a stomach bug of some kind. Still not happy with this recent nappy though as it's extremely mucusy and dark.
