2yr 9month old being regularly sick

My daughter has been sick a lot recently and I’m becoming concerned with how often she is unwell. It definitely has to be viral rather than an allergy. As me, dad or big sister catch it every single time from her a couple days later. She’s been sick tonight, back on 8/12, 20/10, 16/10 there was another time or two which I can’t remember the dates in the last 3 months. She does go to nursery and I know they pick up germs all the time but this is getting insane! Do you think Should I be concerned with how often she is getting S&D? She always projectile vomits up soooo much, but doesn’t always have a bad poop.

I'd raise it with her gp. My ds used to be sick regularly if he was very snotty or coughing badly. He only had an upset stomach once though.

Could she have threadworms, be scratching in her sleep and getting sick that way?

She’s not unwell in any other way, she doesn’t have a cold or anything. My eldest used to be sick if she was mucusy when she was little but the youngest of fine. She looked pale this morning but was her usually crazy self all day, been really unsettled this evening then was sick around midnight.

I don’t think she has thread worm, she uses her potty all the time so I regularly check her poo. I have seen her itching her bum or anything. 🤦🏻‍♀️. Might be worth an E consult I think

My two children went through an absolutely hideous winter when the oldest had just turned 4 and the youngest was 2. Started with one bout of norovirus and that was it, they were constantly passing this bloody sickness bug back and forth. The worst was they'd get nearly to the end of their 48 hours quarantine from nursery or school abd then throw up again, triggering another 48 hours! I had just started a new job and even with my parents helping out I still had to take an obscene amount of time off!

Never did manage to get to the bottom of it, they had sickness bugs every winter in the years before that awful year and I think maybe one more year after that and so far, last couple of years (touch wood) they've not had anything. But of course we've also been in pandemic lockdown conditions as well so.....🤷‍♀️

If you're concerned then of course go to the gp but I think a lot of toddlers and young children get this, their immune system gets a bit of a knock from one sickness virus, their digestive system doesn't quite recover and then they're hit with another one and hit harder than they should be because everything's a bit weaker. Rinse and repeat.

Excellent hygiene is always helpful obviously, sheets on nice hot wash, cleaning down any sicky surfaces with a strong anti-bac or bleach spray and lots and lots of hand washing but sometimes the bugs are just going to get through and we just have to grit our teeth and wait for the little darlings to get older and their immune systems to grow up a bit more!

Thank you. Well she was fine for 48 hours until she’s been sick again tonight🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️. I wonder if it could be anything to do with diary. As she has an intolerance when she was a new born but had grown out of it by 12 months and completed her milk ladder no problem. But if it was dairy then I’d think she would be sick more often as she had milk cheese and butter etc every day 🤷🏻‍♀️
