Cradle cap in 2.5yr old

Good morning!
A few weeks ago I took my DS to the barber for a haircut for the first time but the lady commented "you do know he still has cradle cap?!" Hmmand I felt really embarrassed.
He didn't have it bad when he was a baby, and his hair all mostly fell out then started growing back he was about 1, he only ever had it very mild and it was all gone by the time his hair started growing in thicker so I just haven't noticed as he has thick white blonde hair now.
He hates having his hair washed and brushed, his hair is not long so I quickly massage in some baby shampoo then rinse it out using fresh water by tilting his head back and running my hands over his hair until the water runs clear (no bubbles).
He hates this and always moves his head then the water gets in his eyes etc.
His hair has grown again and I need to take him back to the barbers but I feel embarrassed and that they will comment again, is it normal for toddlers to have cradle cap?
If anyone has some tips to get rid of it or some tips on how I can help my DS accept hair washing/brushing that would be great
Thank you Smile

I can't help on the removing it for toddlers, but just to reassure you, I can remember having cradle cap when I was about 5 and my son developed it a couple of years ago at the grand old age of 12!!
Thankfully at 12 he tolerated me combing it through with a nit comb a couple of times a week until it went.

My son still has it at 7

I was going to say nit comb! DD same age still has it, but it’s not noticeable under her mound of hair and doesn’t affect her in the slightest, so why worry? She’s a beacon for headlice though so gets a regular nitty gritty, and I do attack clumps of it with that now and again.

Dentinox cradle cap scalp oil. Just a few drops, massage it in and leave. You can use Dentinox cradle cap shampoo to wash it out.

I use it on myself for recurrent flaky scalp and it is great, well I have found it very good.

Head and shoulders.

yes to nit comb - DD had it for years and it only went when we had to do headlice treatment!

My son still has loads at the age of 6. It doesn't bother him- and it bothers him when I try to get rid of it so I've left it. You can't really see it unless looking closely 🤷‍♀️

My kids still have it at ten, sebahorric (sp?) dermatitis- I've been scrubbing them with head and shoulders and brushing through their hair properly, more than they do. It's coming out in satisfying chunks. They want to be independent but not able to yet.

Dd who's 3 has it. I use coconut oil and a nit comb to lift as much out as I can.
