Hi I've looked on Google and I just don't understand.

Can anyone explain this to an autistic dyslexic please 😃😃

It's basically damaged tissue/ a wound that has gone into 'overdrive' while healing, meaning there is too much flesh growing before the skin heals together.

This can make it difficult for the wound to heal as the flesh stands proud of the edges of the wound, making it difficult for the edges to come together and heal.

It's more complicated than that but that's a simplified explanation

Thank you for that. They put something on it. Silver something?

Silver nitrate. Burns the excess skin off I think.

Silver nitrate? As I understand it, It will help to provide nice ‘fresh’ edges for the wound to knit together better . Hopefully someone can explain better!

No thank you that's great.

My daughter had a birth mark removed weeks ago today. I was told parts of it had over granulation.

We use maxitrol eye drops to shrink my sons granulation from his gastrostomy button.

Silver nitrate shrinks things, it’s highly astringent.

I had a cervix polyp cauterised with it, felt nothing.

Hi thanks all. It's got worse this week. Nurse said she should have put more on but didn't want to damage the wound around it.

Our son’s granulation is was awful and in the end he had to have further surgery to remove it. We tried maxitrol and silver nitrate but neither worked. The one thing that did help was an American product called Granulotion. It’s hard to get ahold of here but if you know anyone in the US that could post it to you, may be worth a try.
