Dd, stubborn, awful verruca and after such a long time, won’t let me use the freeze spray or bazzuca on it anymore.

It is a little painful. Can Drs still help with this? What’s the procedure?
Dd is Autistic and a little anxious.
Thanks!

I think it varies but in our surgery the nurse will remove them if it is painful to walk on and you have first tried the otc stuff for 6 months+. DS 11 has had it done twice as he seems verruca prone. They normally just have a clinic once a month and bundle all the needs frozen off appointments together. Not sure if it's still going on (pandemic) but worth a chat with receptionist.

Chiropodist will - even if you have to use a private one, they’re not expensive.

Our local gp surgery said they had got rid of the equipment when I phoned to ask about getting my dd’s stubborn verruca. I don’t think it’s so common to get them removed now unless you go privately to a chiropodist.

Podiatrist or chiropodist is the person to treat this.

GrowThroughWhatYouGoThrough · 07/11/2021 19:16

Ours won't it's a podiatrist or a chiropodist

Swingoutsistersledge2 · 07/11/2021 19:18

My DD had a Verruca and I bought the Scholl Verruca pen and it disappeared in a few days . Marvellous stuff . Available in most chemists .

I went to a podiatrist who removed it with silver sticks. Wasn’t expensive. I think you can buy them on Amazon

Hoppinggreen · 07/11/2021 19:28

We had to pay a Chiropodist to remove DSs

Blossom4538 · 07/11/2021 22:47

Does it hurt?!
I remember having a wart removed when I was younger and it didn’t hurt.
We are using the freeze spray from Boots and despite being fine initially, DD can’t tolerate the pain now.

Chiropodist. But putting clear nail varnish on it every day for a couple of weeks was far more than effective than the chiropodist in the end (and a hell of a lot cheaper)

OverByYer · 08/11/2021 07:06

The silver nitrate less painful than the freeze spray. We also tried duct tape.

Scotlass · 08/11/2021 17:01

Not sure if this helps but DS had a really stubborn verruca that we tried loads of stuff on and in the end it was a gel off amazon and leaving duct tape on it every night that finally got rid of the blighter
