How long for results of child ECG?

The GP has organised some investigations into a potential heart issue for my DC (age 11).
DC had an ECG over 2 weeks ago, the nurse told us that the results should be in by the end of the week, but we've phoned several times and keep getting told to phone back the next day.

I'm getting concerned that after being told 3-4 days, the results still aren't in over 2 weeks later. When I phoned the GP surgery I told them I was concerned that the results were taking longer than thought and asked if there was any way of finding out if there was a problem/if they'd lost the ecg information etc. The receptionist basically said they wouldn't do anything until the results came in Hmm.

Is there anything else I can do? I'm finding it all a bit frustrating as it's taking so much longer than we were told, which makes me think that the results may have been lost (in which case we need to organise another one). It seems a bit extreme to ask for a GP appointment for this (not to mention a waste of an appointment) but the receptionists are not listening to my concerns.

Can you phone the number on the hospital letter and see if they can confirm when your results should be back?

Thanks - no hospital letter, the ECG was done at the GP surgery.

In that case I would book a gp telephone appointment. They should have the results and be able to discuss them with you.
How infuriating not to be able to sort this out with the receptionist.

All the ecgs my son has they print the ecg there and then and put in an envelope for me to give to the Dr. I would get a DT to give you a phone appointment to work out what’s gone wrong.

Thanks - they did the ECG and then emailed (I think) it over to the hospital while we were still there. My understanding is that the hospital would interpret the results then send the results/report back.

I'll make a phone appointment with the GP, just don't like the idea of wasting anyone's time.
