Possible peanut allergy

Dd had a severely swollen eye at the weekend - her eye was visibly puffy before bed and when she woke next day the surface of her eyeball was very swollen as well as eyelids etc. Never seen that before and it looked horrifying. Quick google suggested either allergic reaction or conjunctivitis so treated with piriton and Optrex and it improved and was still red but not swollen next day.

Thinking about what she'd eaten, the only thing that could provoke a reaction was chocolate peanuts the evening her eye started swelling. She never eats peanuts or peanut products normally.

Her eye got completely better for a couple of days, and I gave her some peanut butter last night to see if she would have another reaction (kept a v close eye on her for the first couple of hours after). All seemed fine but this morning she has swollen surface of her eye again, though not so bad this time.

Might this be a coincidence? Should I try to get her allergy tested at the docs? I don't want to assume and potentially remove the potential of a healthy protein from her diet (she's just decided to go veggie, I know choc peanuts are not particularly healthy they were a weekend treat).

Have given dd piriton again this morning, thinking if that sorts it it's more likely to be allergic?

If you think it's a peanut allergy, definitely don't give her any more peanuts until she's been tested.

My dd has a peanut allergy and reacts to tiny amounts of peanut.

Agree, get her tested and don’t give her any more peanuts

See that's what makes me doubt it - if it is then it's definitely not on that level. Is it possible to have a mild peanut allergy?

Oh god - I've been stupid then? I'll call doc this morning. I wasn't intending to give her any more in any case.
