2yo odd spots

On Sunday, 2yo DS came out in some spots (maybe a dozen or so) on his face. Mostly on the lower face, but the odd one nearer his eyes. They're mostly small and red, although the odd one has a head to it. He's also got spots on his groin and two on his arm, but the rest of him is clear. I was worried it was chicken pox, but no more have appeared, they've not turned into blisters, he's not scratching them and he's perfectly well in himself (no temp, eating, sleeping and playing normally).

Given he's clearly not bothered by them, I wasn't planning to waste a GP appointment at this stage, just wondering if anyone had seen anything similar in the past and knew what it might be so I can do anything helpful to help them clear up? The only non-itchy rashes with no fever that appear on Dr Google all seem to be ones affecting newborns and he's nearly 3yo...

I’m assuming you’ve done the glass test. I would get any rash checked out, you’re not wasting an appointment.

My 3yo currently has hand, foot and mouth. He has spots that look like red blemishes on his face. Since Friday they’ve spread to his hands and now has some on his foot. But only about 12 spots total and no itchiness.

Thanks, that's good advice. Yes, glass test was fine and he's gone to nursery today as usual. I did flag them to the staff before sending him in - they didn't seem too concerned and agreed to keep an eye on him. I'll see how he is tonight and try to get an appointment tomorrow if it's not getting better.

Hand foot and mouth?

TheBestSpoon · 05/10/2021 14:21

Hmmm, hand foot and mouth is certainly an idea. But his hands and feet are clear and no mouth ulcers - could it still be that?

Other complication if it is hand, foot and mouth is that I'm pregnant, although the NHS website and to imply the main risks are early and late on, and I'm second trimester.
