Shingles Vaccine

My daughter had a very bad dose of shingles aged 11. I didn’t actually know kids could get it! I know it lies dormant and can reappear in times of stress.
Does anyone know if there is a vaccine against it or whether the chicken pox vaccine would help to suppress it? I’m not getting any clear answers online and it’s not easy to speak to a doctor at the moment. TIA

Shingles vaccine is only for the over 70s

My ds had shingles age 3. Hasn't had them.aince and is now nearly 15. Having chicken pox under age 1 apparently increased chances of childhood shingles

There is a shingles vaccine but the NHS restricts to over-70s and even US resources don't seem enthusiastic about use in the under-50s. I suspect it is not licensed in children.

She is unlucky to get shingles at her age but that doesn't necessarily mean it will recur frequently.

Thank you - it was just so grim I’d love to be able to minimise the chances of her getting it again!

Exposure to chicken pox is supposed to help boost the immune system and help prevent shingles. This is part of the argument for not giving the chicken pox vaccine
