Help! Have both my toddlers molars decayed?!

Oh shit. My nearly three year old is an awkward teeth cleaner, and, though he lets me do it, doesn't properly open wide so I never properly get to see his teeth.
Until today, when I noticed that both his molars on the bottom (second from the back ones) are a strange yellow and bumpy colour. They both look a little sad, but his other teeth look normal.
I've booked a dentist app but the earliest they have is November.
Is it definitely decay? Has anyone had this? I feel terrible

Could be that the enamel hasn't formed properly on the back teeth. Did he have an illness as a baby or did you use antibiotics in pregnancy?

Ah I hope that's it! (If that's not a bad thing to have). He had a few infections as a newborn, and I was sick as a dog in pregnancy. Hopefully that could be it, fingers crossed. The teeth thing stresses me out no end

Think its called enamel hypoplasia
My ds has it on his first adult molars and I put it down to the chicken pox he had as a baby. It will be more prone to decay and the dentist will want to keep an eye on it (once you eventually get seen!)

We are vigilant about tooth brushing but my DS has what previous posters are describing, hypoplasia, on just one of his back molars. He complained of toothache and the dentist put thin layer of white filling over the top of the tooth. I was told the rest of his teeth are perfect and that it was just that the enamel hadn’t formed properly. The dentist also said it was common for the adult tooth when it comes through to have the same issue - we’ll see.

DS had this - enamel not properly formed on back teeth, and he was resistant and not very good at teeth cleaning (dyspraxic and sensory issues) so his baby molars got quite bad, but his adult teeth are fine.
