2 year old, weird habits?

Hey, My 2 year old boy has this thing were he would quickly brush at his ears, rubs at his eyes or brushes at the back of his, sort of like if you were to walk through cobwebs, you'd swipe at your face and head to get them off.. "sorry best i can explain it" Its almost as if something was itchin or tingling, basically how you would react to that. If happens consistently throughout the day, wither hes playing with toys or watching the tv, its almost contant and seem to be getting more frequent. Weve noticed him doing it now for maybe the last 2/3 months. We took him to the GP and doc checked his ears, his eyes, scalp, throat and everything seemed fine. The Doc suggested it was maybe a wee habit he's picked up and not to pay it to much attention, it will probably just fade out on its own. His mum is getting quite worried now, thinking things like autism and i just want to try and put her mind at ease. Does anyone have any experience of this and if so have a thoughts as to what it could be?
Thanks

How is his language development? What about his social skills? Are they on track? Does he play appropriately for his age?

He has been referred to speech therapy as he can only say a few words, mainly when prompted. Other than that he communicates very well, he understands everything hes asked to do, he will point and babble to what he wants or needs. His play seems ok as well, he can stack, build, sort, climb, hide, run etc

Ok so if he's got a little quirk abs his speech is a little behind, it's worth getting his hearing checked. You can sometimes self refer or speak to the GP's receptionist and ask how to get a referral for a hearing test. The SLT will probably want a hearing test done anyway.

It's also worth doing the MChat Test as well. You can do it at home abs it will give you an indication of what his risk of ASD might be.

Yes, do the MCHAT test OP. It's always worrying when our children do odd things I know but it's better to get an idea of what's going on....that way you're empowered. Has he had his hearing tested recently?
