It's everywhere - blister like, but it's not a blister blister - legs, elbows, under arms, tummy, I'll try to attach photos, currently on waiting with NHS but I'm going mad?!?! Clearly it's itchy for her but other than that no other symptoms at all. Anyone, anything, please help!!!!!

Yeh that's hives. You'll probably never know what caused them. Give antihistamine and they'll go within a few days.

@NormaSwilly

It's hives, op. In toddlers it's really common as a bit of an immune system overreaction to a minor virus. Because their immune system is gearing up still it gets a bit overzealous in response to a bug of some sort and hives are the reaction. They are itchy but harmless.

It can also be an allergic reaction but in a toddler I bet it's just an immune system viral response, this is much more common. I have 4 kids and 3 of them had attacks of hives in toddlerhood. None of them have any allergies.

Thank you so much!!!!!!! You really managed to put my mind at ease before I go ballistic.... She's already asleep btw... and I know Mumsnet was the answer and not in 2-3-4 hours but immediately, despite my husband saying "what are you doing?!!!? I'm calling NHS!!" I just said you do that, the ladies here know their staff and he said I'm completely nuts:) Still waiting for the call back btw...:)

Looks exactly the same as the hives my son gets whenever he plays in cut grass. Liquid piriton is usually the order of the day for us.

@Suzi888

Stop googling! Wink especially if she’s calm. I expect they’ll be gone by morning. Hope 111 get back to you soon and put your mind at rest.
Yeap, I'll definitely do that... the things are 50% better after the antihistamine cream... sorry, I went a bit over board with this, dealing with other stuff too, usually I'm the calmest one even there's blood involved or anything else (my husband got really scared because of me, I never react so historically even to pneumothoraxes or broken bonesGrin

@FAQs

Do you have a 24 hr pharmacist you can take the photos to? (If they still exist)
Yeap, we have one 15 mins driving, thank god, and the lady gave my husband antyhestamin cream knowing that we wait for a call back, but she was pretty sure it's hives and it'll help, and it did, she's sleeping like an 😇

@Mammaaof

I think you need to calm down op, Jesus. It looks like hives.
😞 sorry, I know... just scared the hell out of me... she has always been healthy as a horse and it's my "miracle" baby after 5 miscarriages and I just couldn't look at what's happening objectively... sorry again and thank you all!!!!

Another "it's definitely hives" here. DS had a reaction exactly the same aged about 3 when he fell into some nettles. His whole body came out like this, even in areas where the nettles had not made contact. The GP said it was just a massive immune overreaction. Piriton and cool baths soothed it, the rash went away after about 24hrs. We were careful about nettles for ages afterwards but he's never reacted like this since. We assume his immune system has remembered about nettles!

Hope she's feeling less itchy this morning. My daughters did take a good few days to disappear completely so don't panic if they're still there. Hope 111 called back and put your mind at ease too.

Lanawondering · 06/09/2021 17:28

Hi all and a massive thanks to all of you, I had the pleasure saying to my DH "told you so":) She's definitely better, the rash was nearly gone this morning and she is completely healthy:) and we had that call back 5 minutes ago... I'm sure they have better things to do, than dealing with hysterical mum, given they knew the symptoms - and after I sent them the pics it's official "it's hives", then I've explained what we did blah blah blah and I was told with a very superior tone that forums are not the place to go when the health of my child is involved... yeah, right, didn't go any further as no point but how can I explain that specifically Mumsnet is my first line of defence!!!!! Half of the doctors I speak are younger than me and don't have any children, it's one thing to read it in the books, completely different story to see it with your own eyes... thank you all again!!! Now I have it:) but only in my mouth and lips but dealing with it in a non- hysterical way:) My lips look like from the Pamela Anderson era-ish so at least I know one thing for sure - I'll never ever try fillers for my lips🤣 not that I was ever thinking about it, but now I really know it's a firm no...
