Toddler intermittent random sick

Hello, just looking for advice or if anyone has been in a similar scenario. My toddler who is nearly 3, over the last 10 days will be randomly sick with no other signs or symptoms. It’s happened either right on bed time as he dozes off, he’ll start fidgeting as if he’s uncomfortable and then suddenly will be sick . That’s happened twice on separate occasions but he’s been absolutely fine in himself otherwise. It’s also now happened twice in the middle of the night , woken up started coughing and been sick. He’s not eaten any differently, he has milk before bed but I stopped that and he was still sick. I have seen online about acid reflux but he never had that as a baby, so could that start out of nowhere now? I did notice as he was falling asleep one night he was sick he kept swallowing over and over but that’s the only out of the ordinary thing I noticed

It could be a bug. My DD once had one very similar, it went on for ages, she was fine during the day but would be sick at night every night for about 2 weeks. I questioned everything, mouldy bath toys, allergies etc but it just went away. I'd probably talk to a GP though and also if they go to any childcare, asking if there have been similar bugs.

My nephew had this at a similar age and it turned out to be a UTI.

I used to be baffled with DD doing the same thing.

Eventually realised she has a mild egg allergy which made her puke 4 hours after eating them.

Her allergic reaction is unusual as she literally has no other symptoms. Perfectly happy and looking well and then suddenly vomits.

Ah the happy memory of my mum actually managing to catch it in her hat on a car journey once, saving me some horrendous car cleaning Grin
