Nosebleeds

My DS is five. Over the last couple months DS has had infrequent nosebleeds. The most recent ones were this evening and Monday evening. I have spoken to my GP about it a few weeks ago and they said it is nothing to worry about. It might be that if it continues, could be a referral for treatment. Has anyone's young child experienced adhoc nose bleeds? Thanks

Yes, my 10 year old son has been getting nosebleeds for about 5 years. GP said not to worry, it's very common. We got him a small humidifier and put it on his bedside table and it seems to help a lot, though he still gets them. GP did say that very rarely, they cauterise the blood vessels because the nosebleeds are so frequent they just don't heal.

Ah I've just seen that your are in the evening - so before bedtime? Perhaps sitting next to a mini humidifier after dinner time.

Amy chance your DS picks his nose? Mine does & this is the cause of nosebleeds in this house, despite my admonishments! Confused

Thanks all. He tells me he doesn't pick. But I will try a dehumidifier

It's a humidifier you'll want not dehumidifier, just to check! Dry air -> more nosebleeds.
