Any ideas about this rash/spots?

Our 10 month old DD had these red spots appear overnight. They have been improving during the day where the redness goes on some and there is just a raised area but several times through the day the redness has come back in the same areas and new areas. Her front, back, face (particularly around eyes) and top of legs are affected. We had a phone appointment with a nurse at the doctors who said as long as the spots blanch (which they do) then not to worry but we are really confused what they are. When we spoke to the nurse the areas had improved and we hadn’t realised they would get bad again. No new foods/products etc have been used and I can’t find anything online that looks similar. Has anyone got any ideas? Sorry for the essay

They look like insect bites the area around is inflamed in same way and she’s to small to scratch them to make the area red.

Yeh I thought they looked a bit like bites but it’s strange they come and go

Bites will look red and raised if you scratch them but then calm down to just a small bump. Until you itch again and then go all red. Tried sudo cream for itching?

I think I’ll try sudocrem tomorrow but I haven’t seen her itching them

They look like hives. Can be due to allergy or a virus. Give her anti histamine and use moisturizer for comfort

I second @chillichoclove it does look like an Allergy type rash although you can’t really give piriton under a year unless it’s prescribed, I’d call back tomorrow if it’s still there and causing discomfort for someone to see you. It’s likely the hot weather/or has baby been in the garden crawling about, my son had terrible hayfever as a baby and couldn’t touch grass as similar happened.

Danikm151 · 21/07/2021 21:34

Heat rash maybe?

IHateCoronavirus · 21/07/2021 21:40

Looks like allergy to me, shower her off to remove and contact traces.

Thanks everyone. It’s a shame that we can’t use antihistamines under a year old. I felt a bit fobbed off by the doctors today so might get back in touch tomorrow if it’s no better but I guess there’s probably not much they can do. She seems really happy in herself, I think it’s bothering us more than her!
