Hi so yesterday I booked my 5 year old daughter in to see the optician this morning due to what seemed to be a burst blood vessel in her eye ( just wanted to get it checked to be sure that's what it was as it is like a round spot in the white of her eye and I was panicking) he said she was okay in the first 2mjns of looking at her but said he would give her a eye test and eye health check whilst we was there, everything was fine with her. I took my son who will be 4 in a couple of weeks with us as I had no one to drop him of at nursery this morning so I told the school I would just drop them both of together as we wouldn't be very long as the appointment was early this morning.
He said everything was okay and just before we was about to leave he picked my son up and told him to look at him, he said have you ever noticed he's got a squint I said no, he said its not a very big one it's a slight squint but told my son to look at me but I couldn't really see anything. He told me to book him in for an eye test to check the health of his eyes, it panicked me a bit and I kept asking him if it was anything to worry about, he said it wasn't anything to worry about as he's young expecially at his age, he booked my son in on Friday afternoon and told me again don't worry it's nothing he's fine we will just do the eye test.
As an aniexty sufferer my mind is going everywhere and I've googled ( I know i shouldn't have) and my mind is going everywhere thinking of all the worst case scenarios. Is this normal? He literally explained it to me as he has a squint it's not very big and then when he told my son to look at me he said one of his eyes are slightly higher than the other. Is this normal or am I worrying for nothing? I don't know why my brain just jumps to worst case scenarios of cancer or something and I end up getting myself into tears.
